Brachylaena elliptica, commonly called bitter-leaf silver-oak, is a shrub or small tree species endemic to South Africa. Its natural range extends from Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape province to southern KwaZulu-Natal. This species grows in low-lying areas, where it occurs in coastal forest, riparian forest, and bushveld habitats. On the SANBI Red List, Brachylaena elliptica is classified as secure.
