About Brachydiplax denticauda (Brauer, 1867)

This species is small-sized, with a wingspan ranging from 40 to 60 millimeters. Brachydiplax denticauda typically has six antenodal crossveins on the fore-wing and five on the hind-wing. In contrast, the very closely related species Brachydiplax duivenbodei has seven antenodal crossveins on the fore-wing and six on the hind-wing. Although B. denticauda males are brightly colored, they often remain unobserved after they land on a lily pad or a similar surface.
