About Borbo cinnara (Wallace, 1866)

This species is scientifically known as Borbo cinnara (Wallace, 1866). On the upper side of the body, the thorax and wing bases have unnoticeable greenish scaling. Typically, the upperside of the forewing has a clearly visible non-hyaline spot in cell 1b, a series of discal spots in cells 2, 3, and 4, apical dots in cells 6, 7, and 8, and an upper cell spot. The upperside of the hindwing has 1 or 2 dots. The underside of the hindwing is covered in olive-ochreous scaling and bears spots in cells 2, 3, and 6. Forewing length ranges from 15 to 16 mm. Known host plants for the larvae of this species are Setaria barbata, Axonopus compressus, Rottboellia cochinchinensis, and Brachiaria mutica.
