Bombus steindachneri is a bumblebee species that is endemic to Mexico. It inhabits pine-oak forests, thorn forests, and tropical dry forests, and can be found from sea level up to around 2,600 meters in elevation. It is active throughout the entire year. This species is classified as endangered on the IUCN Red List. Its threats include habitat loss caused by agriculture (including cattle ranching) and the chemical use associated with this activity. It is also negatively impacted by urbanization, mining, and the loss of native flora.
