About Bomarea glaucescens (Kunth) Baker
Bomarea glaucescens (Kunth) Baker is a species of flowering plant that belongs to the Alstroemeriaceae family. It is native to Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador. This plant grows in several types of habitat: wet páramo that occurs among Polylepis plants and beside lakes, as well as grassy páramo and Andean forests. The species as a whole is not classified as threatened, but some of its populations are vulnerable to habitat destruction. This destruction occurs when páramo is converted into pasture land, and into pine and eucalyptus plantations.
