About Boloria epithore (Edwards, 1864)
Boloria epithore, commonly known as the Pacific fritillary, is a butterfly species belonging to the family Nymphalidae. This species is distributed in western North America, ranging from California north to British Columbia and east to Alberta. The wingspan of adult Boloria epithore measures 34 to 44 millimetres, which equals 1.3 to 1.7 inches. Adult Pacific fritillaries fly between June and July. The larvae of this butterfly feed exclusively on Viola ocellata.
