About Boiga beddomei (Wall, 1909)
Boiga beddomei (Wall, 1909) is a slender snake species, with a head that is distinctly separated from its neck. Its vertebral scales are strongly enlarged. The upper dorsal surface of the body is grayish brown, marked with dark brown cross bars along the vertebral line. The ventral surface is yellowish-cream in color, densely covered in fine blackish spots. This species is endemic to India. It occurs in the northern Western Ghats region, specifically in the Maharashtra state localities of Bhimashankar, Mulshi, Koyna, and Vasota. It can also be found in the hill ranges of Gujarat, Goa, and northern Karnataka. Its preferred natural habitat is evergreen forest, occurring at altitudes up to 1,000 m (3,300 ft). Boiga beddomei is nocturnal and arboreal. It is oviparous, meaning it reproduces by laying eggs.
