About Bocana manifestalis Walker, 1859
This species has a wingspan of approximately 36–40 mm. In males, the third joint of the palpi is upturned and naked, and no tuft grows from the second joint. The antennae are pectinated; specifically, male antennae are bipectinate with branches of moderate length. The forewings have a large costal fold. The body is dark fuscous brown. On the forewings, there is an indistinct oblique dark antemedial line, a white or black speck at the end of the cell, a waved postmedial line that curves outward beyond the cell, and an irregularly sinuous submarginal line. The hindwings have medial and submarginal waved lines. The ventral side has a black cell-spot. Many specimens have two waved lines with whitish outer edges. Larvae of this species have been recorded feeding on various grasses and weeds.
