Bidens bipinnata L. is an annual herb that grows up to 150 cm (60 inches) tall. It produces white or yellow flower heads, each of which contains both disc florets and ray florets. Its most common common name is Spanish needles.

Due to its current global distribution, the native range of Bidens bipinnata remains uncertain, but the prevailing consensus is that it originated in Asia and North America. This species is a weedy, ruderal plant that grows in fields, forests, and disturbed sites including road embankments and fallow agricultural areas. It prefers moist, sandy soils and shaded environments.

Bidens bipinnata can be used as a potherb.
