About Bicyrtes viduatus (Handlirsch, 1889)

Bicyrtes viduatus is a species of sand wasp that belongs to the family Bembicidae. This species is found in Central America. It can be identified by its pale yellow body color. Unlike the other two yellow-colored species in the Bicyrtes genus — Bicyrtes capnopterus and Bicyrtes ventralis — Bicyrtes viduatus does not have a thoracic "smiley face" marking. In addition to this distinguishing feature, its submarginal cell has a clouded appearance, while the rest of its wings are largely clear.
