Berberis hayatana is a species of flowering plant in the family Berberidaceae. It was first scientifically described in 1952, and was subsequently reclassified and renamed in 1954. This species is endemic to Taiwan. Berberis hayatana grows as a low, evergreen shrub. Its leaves are leathery, simple, and shaped from narrowly oblanceolate to elliptical. The inflorescence is a fascicle that holds 2 to 6 flowers. The plant produces ellipsoid, black berries.
