Begonia crenata Dryand. is a succulent herb that grows 10–15 cm tall, with tuberous rootstocks. It produces 1 to 4 leaves per plant, each leaf measuring 1.4–8.2 cm long by 1.2–7 cm wide, and ranging in shape from ovate to suborbicular. Its inflorescence is a terminal cyme. The species is monoecious, with pinkish flowers: male flowers are approximately 0.7 cm long, while female flowers are around 1.5 cm long. Its capsules are 0.7 × 0.7 cm, membranous, and three-winged. Its seeds are minute and ellipsoid.
