About Beckmannia eruciformis (L.) Host

Beckmannia eruciformis, commonly known as European slough-grass or slough grass, is an annual or short-lived perennial plant belonging to the grass family Poaceae. It grows in shallow marshes and sloughs, and is used as animal fodder and forage. This species is native to Western Asia, from Turkey through Siberia and Kazakhstan, as well as Southeastern Europe, Eastern Europe, and Central Europe. It is one of just two species in the genus Beckmannia; the other species is Beckmannia syzigachne.
