About Bebbia atriplicifolia A.Gray
Bebbia atriplicifolia A.Gray, also classified as Bebbia juncea var. atriplicifolia, is a flowering composite plant. It reaches a height of 6–8 ft (1.8–2.4 m), and produces many stems that tend to hang over other plants. Stems are hispidulous, and sometimes become glabrous. Its leaves have petioles, with triangular-ovate blades that are 2 to 5 cm (0.79 to 1.97 in) long and 0.6 to 4 cm (0.24 to 1.57 in) wide, and have hastate lobes or teeth. The plant's orange-yellow flowers are reported to have a pleasant scent. Flower heads range from several to numerous, arranged in cymose-panicles, with pedicels that are usually stipitate-glandular and hispidulous. The involucre is less pubescent, and the phyllaries are acute or acuminate. This taxon is endemic to the Mexican state of Baja California Sur, where it grows in sandy soils within desert and dry shrub biomes.
