Basiothia schenki, commonly called the brown striped hawk, is a moth species belonging to the family Sphingidae. This species was first formally described by Heinrich Benno Möschler in 1872. It has been recorded from Zimbabwe and South Africa. Adult Basiothia schenki act as pollinators for Satyrium longicauda and Zaluzianskya natalensis. The larvae of this moth feed on plants from the genus Vernonia.
