About Bacopa rotundifolia (Michx.) Wettst.

Bacopa rotundifolia (Michx.) Wettst. is a water hyssop species commonly called disk water hyssop or round-leafed water hyssop, named for the shape of its leaves. It is an aquatic plant native to water bodies in the central United States, and it is well documented as an invasive weed of waterways in other regions. Its round leaves measure 1 to 3 centimeters wide, and each leaf has six longitudinal veins. The plant bears white flowers with yellow throats, and it blooms in the fall. It produces a medium amount of fruit and seeds, and its seeds spread at a slow rate. This species has no commercial use.
