About Baccharis linearis (Ruiz & Pav.) Pers.
Baccharis linearis (Ruiz & Pav.) Pers. is a densely branched shrub with erect branches that grows 1 to 3 meters tall. Young branches have green bark, which turns reddish brown as they age. This species produces linear, sessile leaves, typically 0 to 30 millimeters long and 0 to 2.5 millimeters wide, with rare toothing. Toothed leaves only occur on young plants; this trait is lost in later growth stages, when plants only produce smooth linear leaves with no toothing. Its capitula grow in groups. On male plants, capitula are 3 to 4.5 millimeters wide, while on female plants they measure 2 to 3 millimeters wide. All capitula attach to branches via peduncles 3 to 8 millimeters long.
