About Azima tetracantha Lam.

Azima tetracantha Lam. has the synonym Monetia barlerioides L'Her. It is an ornamental plant belonging to the Salvadoraceae family. Its common name is Bee Sting Bush, and it is called 'Yashankala' in the practice of ayurveda. The foliage of this plant is an important medicinal material used for post-pregnancy treatments, and it is also used in karkidaka treatments, a well-known treatment tradition in Kerala.
