About Azara celastrina D.Don

Azara celastrina, commonly called lilen, is a small tree species belonging to the family Salicaceae. It can reach a maximum height of 10 meters, and it is endemic to Central Chile. The species produces yellow flowers arranged in axillary corymbs. Its leaves are serrated, oval-shaped, arranged alternately along stems, and grow up to 4 centimeters in length. A. celastrina grows in semi-arid environments, at elevations up to 1000 meters.
