About Axonopus compressus (Sw.) P.Beauv.

Axonopus compressus (Sw.) P.Beauv. is a species of grass. It is commonly used as permanent pasture, groundcover, and turf in moist, low-fertility soils, especially in shaded locations. It tends to grow too low to the ground to be suitable for cut-and-carry systems or fodder conservation. Although it is not an ideal choice for this purpose, it is occasionally used for football fields, particularly fields that do not host elite competitions or that receive only low levels of maintenance.
