About Avatha discolor (Fabricius, 1794)
The wingspan of Avatha discolor is approximately 40–46 mm. Males have minutely ciliated antennae, and the subcostal neuration of their forewings is not distorted; they also have no sexual patches on either their forewings or hindwings. The forewings are suffused with a mix of greyish and fuscous tones, and there are no spots on the costa. The lunule on the antemedial line is sometimes obsolescent. A dark spot is present in the cell. The postmedial line is S-shaped beyond the cell, with a blackish patch located in its upper curve. The hindwings have whitish cilia at the apex and near the anal angle. Recorded food plants for Avatha discolor are Nephelium, Sapindus, and Callicarpa.
