Austrostipa ramosissima, commonly known as stout bamboo grass, grows in moist areas of eastern Australia. It is most often found in well-drained habitats within eucalyptus woodlands or forests. This bunchgrass can grow up to 2.5 metres (8.2 ft) in height. Flowering can occur at any time of the year. For cultivation, Austrostipa ramosissima is grown as an ornamental grass by plant nurseries. It is used in home gardens and drought-tolerant landscaping, and can be planted both in the ground and in pots.
