Austrogynacantha is a genus of dragonfly that belongs to the family Aeshnidae. The only known species in this genus is Austrogynacantha heterogena, commonly called the Australian duskhawker. This species was described by Tillyard in 1908, and it occurs in Australia and New Caledonia. Austrogynacantha heterogena is a medium-sized dragonfly. It has a dark body with bright green or yellow markings. It is a vagrant species, active at dawn and dusk, and lives in still water habitats.
