It is also classified as Austroepigomphus (Austroepigomphus) praeruptus, and was known as Austrogomphus praeruptus until recently. Its common names are Twinspot Hunter and Melaleuca Hunter. This is a medium-sized dragonfly that is black and yellow in color. It lives in slow streams, rivers, and ponds located in eastern Australia.
