About Austroblechnum lanceolatum (R.Br.) Gasper & V.A.O.Dittrich

Austroblechnum lanceolatum (R.Br.) Gasper & V.A.O.Dittrich is a medium-sized fern that produces tufted fronds. Its fronds range from 85 to 700 millimeters in length, and are strongly dimorphic, meaning sterile and fertile fronds have different forms. Both sterile and fertile fronds measure 15 to 115 millimeters in width. This fern is distributed in southeastern Australia, Samoa, Fiji, the North Island of New Zealand, and many coastal forests of New Zealand's South Island. It acts as the host species for Batrachedra litterata, a moth that is endemic to New Zealand.
