Austroaeschna parvistigma Martin, 1901 is a large dragonfly species belonging to the family Aeshnidae, commonly known as the swamp darner. It lives in heavily vegetated, slow-flowing streams in eastern Australia, ranging from northern New South Wales through Victoria, Tasmania to parts of South Australia. This dragonfly is very dark with pale markings. It looks similar to the multi-spotted darner, Austroaeschna multipunctata, which inhabits mountain streams of southern New South Wales and eastern Victoria.
