Austroaeschna atrata Martin, 1909 is a species of Australian dragonfly belonging to the family Aeschnidae. It is commonly known as the mountain darner. This dragonfly lives in the upper reaches of mountain streams, usually at altitudes above 400 meters, and its range covers New South Wales and Victoria. It is a medium-sized to large dragonfly, with very dark colouring and dull markings.
