About Aureoboletus gentilis (Quél.) Pouzar

Aureoboletus gentilis is a species of bolete fungus that belongs to the family Boletaceae. French mycologist Lucien Quélet first described this fungus in 1884 under the name Boletus sanguineus var. gentilis. In 1957, mycologist Zdeněk Pouzar transferred the species to the genus Aureoboletus, giving it its current scientific name Aureoboletus gentilis (Quél.) Pouzar. This species is classified as vulnerable within the Czech Republic.
