About Aulonia albimana (Walckenaer, 1805)

Aulonia albimana, first described by Walckenaer in 1805, has an average body length of around 4 millimeters. Females of the species can grow up to 4.5 millimeters, while males typically reach only 3.5 millimeters. Both sexes share a similar overall appearance. The prosoma is dark brown and marked with a narrow white border. The legs are light yellow, with black femurs on the first pair of legs. The dark brown opisthosoma has scattered light hairs on its front section, and sometimes has small light hair tufts at its back end. On the palps, the patellae are white, creating a strong contrast with the black tibiae and femurs of the appendage. This species is native to Europe, Turkey, and the Caucasus. It lives in sunny, dry environments, where it can be found under rocks or growing within moss.
