Scientific name: Astragalus eucosmus B.L.Rob. This species is commonly called elegant milkvetch. Across its widespread distribution, elegant milkvetch shows phenotypic variation that corresponds to the elevation of its growing site, and plants growing at higher elevations can appear stunted. Astragalus eucosmus has a continuous distribution that covers almost every Canadian province, and also extends into the Rocky Mountains of the western United States.
