Astelia trinervia Kirk is a rhizomatous tufted perennial plant species that is native to New Zealand. One confirmed location where this species grows is the Hamilton Ecological District on New Zealand’s North Island. In this area, it grows in forest understory, growing alongside the fern Blechnum discolor (crown fern), beneath an overstory of rimu and Nothofagus trees.
