About Asota producta (Butler, 1875)
Asota producta (Butler, 1875) has a wingspan of 60–71 mm. The forewing bears a basal orange patch that extends further along the costa, with an additional black spot on the costa. Some of its subspecies have darker orange and brown coloration. The larva has a large head, and a series of dorsal tubercles run from the 4th somite to the terminal somite. The larva is purplish brown with sparse hairs, and its thoracic somites are pale on the upper side. Pale lateral spots are present on the larva. A dorsal black line, along with oblique dorsal streaks, is found on the seventh through tenth larval somites.
