Asota plaginota is a species of moth in the family Erebidae. It was first described by Arthur Gardiner Butler in 1875. This moth has been recorded in China, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Sikkim, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam. In Northeast India, Asota plaginota has been recorded as a millet pest. Its wingspan measures between 61 and 65 mm.
