About Asemospiza fuliginosa (Wied-Neuwied, 1830)
The sooty grassquit, with the scientific name Asemospiza fuliginosa, is a small bird. It is classified as a tanager, and is closely related to Darwin's finches. This species occurs in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Guyana, Paraguay, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela. Its natural habitats include subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, subtropical or tropical moist montane forest, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, and heavily degraded former forest.
