About Asciodes gordialis Guenée, 1854
Asciodes gordialis, commonly called the bougainvillea caterpillar moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Crambidae. Achille Guenée first described this species in 1854. This moth can be found across the southern United States, in the West Indies including Cuba and the Dominican Republic, and in South America including French Guiana, Ecuador and Argentina. The wingspan of Asciodes gordialis is approximately 25 millimeters. The larvae of this species feed on Bougainvillea species.
