Artemisia scoparia Waldst. & Kit. is a Eurasian plant species belonging to the genus Artemisia in the sunflower family. Its English common names are virgate wormwood, capillary wormwood, and redstem wormwood. In Mandarin Chinese, it is called yīn chén (Traditional Chinese: 茵陳). It is widespread across most of Eurasia, ranging from France to Japan, and including regions and countries such as China, India, Russia, Germany, Poland, and central and southwest Asia. It is an important traditional Chinese medicine, and is considered interchangeable with Artemisia capillaris for medicinal use. Contact with its pollen can cause allergic reactions.
