Artemisia furcata M.Bieb. is a perennial plant that grows up to 35 centimeters (14 inches) tall, and does not generally form clumps. Its leaves are gray-green; some leaves form a rosette at the base of the plant, while others are attached to the stem. This species produces small but numerous yellow flower heads. It is native to specific regions in multiple countries: Canada (British Columbia, Alberta, and the three Arctic territories of Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Yukon), the United States (Alaska and Washington), eastern Russia (Siberia and the Russian Far East), Kazakhstan, and Japan. Artemisia furcata grows in tundra and on talus slopes.
