About Arrhenia chlorocyanea (Pat.) Redhead, Lutzoni, Moncalvo & Vilgalys
Arrhenia chlorocyanea, commonly called the verdigris navel, is an agaric fungus species that belongs to the family Hygrophoraceae. It was first published as a species of the genus Agaricus in 1885, and was later reclassified into the genus Omphalina. This species was finally transferred to the genus Arrhenia in 2002 by Redhead, Lutzoni, Moncalvo and Vilgalys. This blue-colored mushroom has caps that are less than 2 centimetres (3โ4 in) wide, and stems that grow 1โ4 cm (3โ8โ1+5โ8 in) tall. It produces a white spore print. Some Entoloma species, for example E. incarnatofuscescens, may look somewhat similar to Arrhenia chlorocyanea, but these similar species have pink spore prints. This fungus grows in association with mosses, and can be found in Europe and North America.
