The grey-browed brushfinch, also called the gray-stripped brushfinch, has the scientific name Arremon assimilis (Boissonneauau, 1840). It is a bird species that belongs to the family Passerellidae. This species inhabits the undergrowth of humid forest, particularly near forest edges. It occurs at altitudes ranging from 300 to 1,200 metres (980 to 3,940 ft) in the Andes Mountains of Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, and most of Peru.
