About Armeria alpina Willd.

Armeria alpina Willd. is a plant that grows to a height of 7–30 centimetres, which equals 2.8–11.8 inches. Its leaves are simple, mostly hairless, and grow in dense basal rosettes that each contain around 25 leaves. The small flowers of this species have five pink petals, and are grouped into inflorescences at the end of long pedicels. Armeria alpina blooms from July through August. It is native to France, Italy, Austria, the Balkan Peninsula, and Spain, specifically the Pyrenees. This species grows in habitats with rocks, gravel, and meadows, at elevations between 1,400 and 2,700 metres, or 4,600 and 8,900 feet, above sea level.
