About Arhopala pseudomuta Staudinger, 1889
Arhopala pseudomuta, first described by Staudinger in 1889, is noticeably larger than Arhopala elopura. Males of the species have a violettish-blue, almost lilac upper wing color, and their under wing surface features regular patterning, which can be seen in the original published figure of this species. This species has been recorded from Malacca and Borneo. Arhopala rafflesii Nic. is a synonym of Arhopala pseudomuta. Individuals corresponding to this synonym have a dark blue rather than violet upper wing, and they have a slight difference in the postmedian band on the underside of the hindwing: the 4th spot of this band is slightly shifted toward the wing margin.
