About Argyrotaenia tabulana Freeman, 1944

Argyrotaenia tabulana, commonly known as the jack pine tube moth or lodgepole needletier moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Tortricidae. This species is distributed across North America, with confirmed records from the following locations: Alabama, Arkansas, British Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and West Virginia. The wingspan of adult Argyrotaenia tabulana measures approximately 14 to 20 mm. Adult moths have been recorded in flight from January through October. The larvae of this species feed on a variety of conifers: Picea glauca, Picea engelmannii, multiple Pinus species (including Pinus albicaulis, Pinus banksiana, Pinus contorta, Pinus monticola, and Pinus ponderosa), Pseudotsuga menziesii, and Tsuga heterophylla.
