Argyrotaenia mariana, commonly known as the gray-banded leafroller moth, is a moth species that belongs to the family Tortricidae. This species is native to North America, and has been specifically recorded in Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Brunswick, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Ontario, Pennsylvania, Quebec, Tennessee, and West Virginia. The wingspan of adult Argyrotaenia mariana is approximately 20 mm. Adult moths have been observed in flight from March through August. The larvae of this species feed on a wide range of plant taxa, including Acer species, Prenanthes species (specifically Prenanthes trifoliata), Alnus species, Betula species (including Betula alleghaniensis, Betula papyrifera, and Betula populifolia), Viburnum species, Kalmia angustifolia, Vaccinium species (including Vaccinium uliginosum), Quercus species, Malus species (including Malus pumila and Malus sylvestris), Prunus virginiana, Pyrus species, Populus tremuloides, Salix species, and Ulmus americana.
