About Argyrodes flavescens O.Pickard-Cambridge, 1880

Argyrodes flavescens, commonly known as the red and silver dewdrop spider, is a spider species in the family Theridiidae. It is widely distributed across Southeast Asia, and can also be found in Sri Lanka. Like all other species in its genus, Argyrodes flavescens is a kleptoparasite: it lives on the webs of larger spiders and feeds on the larger host spiders' prey. It most often inhabits the webs of araneid spiders. This is a very small spider species, with a body length of approximately 3 mm when legs are excluded. Its legs are black, and its abdomen is markedly domed, very shiny, and red-brown in color with white spots.
