Arenaria ciliata, commonly called fringed sandwort, is a perennial herb belonging to the Caryophyllaceae family. It is a calcicole that grows in open grassland and on bare rock in mountainous regions. The species is distributed across Europe, with one isolated outlying population in Greenland. It has never been recorded growing in Britain. It was first found growing on Ben Bulben, County Sligo, Ireland in 1806, and this site remains the only known population of the species in Ireland.
