About Arctostaphylos glandulosa Eastw.

Arctostaphylos glandulosa Eastw. is an erect shrub that grows up to 3 metres (10 ft) tall. It is covered in bristles, and is sometimes glandular, secreting sticky oils. The species has quite variable overall appearance. Its evergreen leaves measure 2.5–5 centimetres (1–2 in) in length, and its flowers range in color from white to pink. This species is native to the coastal slopes of western North America, ranging from Oregon through California to Baja California. It grows on rocky slopes within chaparral and forest habitats, and is able to resprout after fire. The berry produced by this shrub is edible.
