About Arctostaphylos edmundsii J.T.Howell

Arctostaphylos edmundsii J.T.Howell is a perennial shrub, specifically a small, low-growing manzanita. It grows in sandy soil, forming mounds and uneven, patchy mats. Its mature leaves are leathery, small, shaped rounded to oval, dark green and shiny; new growth leaves have red edges. Its dense flower clusters hold small, urn-shaped to rounded flowers that are waxy white to very pale pink. It produces a shiny, reddish-brown drupe fruit that measures between 0.5 and 1 centimeter wide.
