Arctostaphylos cruzensis Roof is a very small manzanita that grows either flat along the ground or as a low mound. Its stem is covered in red, shreddy bark. The leaves are small, pointed, and oval-shaped, with a bright green color; sometimes they have slight teeth, or a fringe of hairs along their reddish edges. The flowers are very pale pink, urn-shaped, and have tapered throats. Its fruits are hairy drupes that reach up to one centimeter in diameter, and contain angular seeds.
