About Archibasis oscillans (Selys, 1877)

This is a slender, long damselfly species. It has light blue eyes topped with a blue cap. Its thorax is black, marked with azure blue antehumeral stripes, and the lateral sides of the thorax are blue. The abdomen is black on the dorsum, and greenish yellow on the ventral half of the lateral sides as far as segment 7. The remaining abdominal segments are azure blue, with apical black rings. Females are similar to males, but are slightly more robust and have paler coloration. This species breeds in lowland forest streams and rivers.
