About Arbutus tessellata P.D.Sørensen

Arbutus tessellata is a Mexican shrub species that belongs to the heath family. This species is widely distributed across much of northern and central Mexico, ranging from Chihuahua to Jalisco, Tlaxcala, and Veracruz. It grows in a diverse array of habitats, including Coastal chaparral, Mixed evergreen scrub, and Mixed evergreen woodland. Arbutus tessellata has a relatively low rate of seed germination, which is one factor that contributes to its occurrence in scattered populations.
